ZI BY MAHDIS BALOUCHI

Fashion Designer

In spring 2011, Zi designs were inspired by the world's oldest cultures, aiming to enhance the visual effects of Persian art.

The choice behind the name "Zi" derives from the ancient Balochi language meaning the embroidery detail of the garments upper body and  the word "Zi" means "living" in Farsi. The verb "Living" in Persian signifies the interest of the designer in the "postmodernism" style.

The designs use colors of nature, motifs, and the combination of old and new symbols to show the "past" by using all the Balochi embroideries in her designs.
